Ever since the 1860s, the Koan Family Orchards of Michigan have been producing hard ciders with a traditional recipe used during The Great Depression. This hard cider is crafted in the spirit of the old English-style apple ales, made back when there were Knights, Kings and potentally, Merlin himself, although it had better been the Merlin from that 1980’s flick, Excalibur, with the metal helmet, because that was the only truly cool one to exist. And that Merlin would have drank J.K.’s Scrumpy Hard Cider by the liter, except that he doesn’t have a signature endorsement deal with the parent company and looking to go unrestricted free agent in the off-season.
J.K.’s Scrumpy Hard Cider is made right off of the land, literally, in Orchard Gate Gold, fermented naturally from a propriety blend of organic apples, wild yeasts, and not a trace of black magic over the past 150 years. The flavorful blend shows with the original estate cider’s fresh, juicy apple aroma which leaves a clean, crisp finish.
