Samuel Smith’s Organic Cider is likely the oldest hard cider drink that you will find in this online store. Imported from The United Kingdom, the Samuel Smith’s Old Brewery is Yorkshire’s oldest brewery, founded in 1758. That is not a typo. The Old Brewery in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire (Northern England) was established in 1758, after Samuel Smith, a successful butcher and cattle dealer from Meanwood, Leeds, funded his son John to buy the brewery from the Hartley family in 1847. Let’s just say that Samuel Smith has been a major influence on beer and cider making for a long time. Samuel Smith’s Organic Cider still draws its brewing water from an original 85-foot well, sunk when the site was established in 1758, and the yeast used in the fermentation process is of a strain that has been continuously used since approximately 1900, one of the oldest unchanged strains in the country.

In terms of Samuel Smith’s Organic Cider, its legendary cider drink ale took home two Gold medals in the 2020 US Open Cider & Beverage Championships on November 26, 2020. Samuel Smith’s Organic Cider is tasty, vegan, naturally gluten-free and worth a hearty drink. It’s not just the history of apples that you are tasting, but also the history of ales from The United Kingdom.
